Component-Based Software Testing with UML
Component-based software development regards software construction in terms of conventional engineering disciplines where the assembly of systems from readily-available prefabricated parts is the norm. Because both component-based systems themselves and the stakeholders in component-based development projects are different from traditional software systems, component-based testing also needs to deviate from traditional software testing approaches. Gross first describes the specific challenges related to component-based testing like the lack of internal knowledge of a component or the usage of a component in diverse contexts. He argues that only built-in contract testing, a test organization for component-based applications founded on building test artifacts directly into components, can prevent catastrophic failures like the one that caused the now famous ARIANE 5 crash in 1996. Complexity Management in Fuzzy Systems : A Rule Base Compression Approach
This book presents a systematic study on the inherent complexity in fuzzy systems, resulting from the large number and the poor transparency of the fuzzy rules. The study uses a novel approach for complexity management, aimed at compressing the fuzzy rule base by removing the redundancy while preserving the solution. The compression is based on formal methods for presentation, manipulation, transformation and simplification of fuzzy rule bases, which are illustrated by algorithms as well as results from numerous examples and two case studies. The results are directly applicable or easily extendable to a wide class of fuzzy systems and detailed benchmarks for expanding these systems to new areas such as fuzzy networks and fuzzy multi-agent systems are introduced. The intended readers are people from both academia and industry, who would be interested in building and implementing advanced fuzzy systems.

يهدف هذا البحث إلى دراسة وتحليل مركز البحثي التطويري لتدوير ركام المباني الناتجة عن الحرب ومخالفات المباني حيث يقع في المنطقة الصناعية في ريف دمشق وتحديداً في مدينة عدرا الصناعية، يتناول المشروع الدور الإيجابي الذي سوف يوفره هذا المركز في إيجاد طرق للاستفادة من ركام المباني في إعادة تدوير هذا الركام ليحقق فائدة تنعكس على المجتمع من خلال تقليل تكاليف مواد البناء أولاً، معالجة مشكلة التلوث الناتجة عن هذا الركام والاستفادة منه ثانياً، حيث تنعكس هذه الدراسات إيجاباً في توفير كلفة إعادة الإعمار وتقوم على دعم الاقتصاد والصناعة بشكل مبتكر ومستدام، حيث يسعى هذا المشروع إلى حل أزمة عانت ولا زالت تعاني منها البلاد ألا وهي التكاليف الكبيرة في عملية إعمار المدن التي دُمرت جراء الحرب بالإضافة إلى وضع دراسات تطويرية للمخلفات لكي تكون صديقة للبيئة ومقاومة للزلازل .
Competition Authorities in South Eastern Europe : Building Institutions in Emerging Markets
Provides answers to key open questions concerning competition policy in emerging economies, with a focus on South Eastern Europe. The contributions address two major issues. One is the design of competition policy and the national competition authorities that enforce it, including the topics of competition advocacy and state aid control; the other is the use of economic methods in competition law enforcement, especially in the cases of relevant market definition and merger control. Compactifying Moduli Spaces for Abelian Varieties
This volume presents the construction of canonical modular compactifications of moduli spaces for polarized Abelian varieties (possibly with level structure), building on the earlier work of Alexeev, Nakamura, and Namikawa. This provides a different approach to compactifying these spaces than the more classical approach using toroical embeddings, which are not canonical. There are two main new contributions in this monograph: (1) The introduction of logarithmic geometry as understood by Fontaine, Illusie, and Kato to the study of degenerating Abelian varieties; and (2) the construction of canonical compactifications for moduli spaces with higher degree polarizations based on stack-theoretic techniques and a study of the theta group.
