Advances in Distribution Theory, Order Statistics, and Inference
Barry Arnold has made fundamental contributions to many different areas of statistics, including distribution theory, Bayesian inference, multivariate analysis, bounds and orderings, and characterization problems. Organized to honor Arnold’s significant contributions to the field, this volume is an outgrowth of the "International Conference on Distribution Theory, Order Statistics, and Inference," held at the University of Cantabria, Santander, Spain.Several distinguished and active researchers highlight some of the recent developments in statistical distribution theory, order statistics and their properties, as well as inferential methods associated with them. Applications to survival analysis, reliability, quality control, and environmental problems are emphasized.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 9th East-European Conference on Advances in Databases and Information Systems was 2005, in Tallinn, Estonia. It was organized in a cooperation between the Institute of Cybernetics at Tallinn University of Technology, the Department of Computer Engineering of Tallinn University of Technology, and the Moscow chapter of ACM SIGMOD. The main objective of the ADBIS series of conferences is to provide a forum for the dissemination of excellent researchaccomplishmentsand to promote interaction and collaboration between the Database and Information Systems research communities from Central and East European countries and the rest of the world. The ADBIS conferences provide an international platform for the presentation of research on database theory, the development of advanced DBMS technologies, and their advanced applications in particular in information s- tems.

Advances in cryptology - CRYPTO -86 ; Conference on the theory and applications of cryptographic techniques : Proceedings
This book is the proceedings of CRYPTO 86, one in a series of annual conferences devoted to cryptologic research. They have all been held at the University of California at Santa Barbara. The first conference in this series, CRYPTO 81, organized by A. Gersho, did not have a formal proceedings. The proceedings of the following four conferences in this series have been published as: Advances in Cryptology: Proceedings of Crypto 82, D. Chaum, R. L. Rivest, and A. T. Advances in Control Theory and Applications
This volume is the outcome of the first CASY workshop on "Advances in Control Theory and Applications" which was held at University of Bologna on May 22-26, 2006. It consists of selected contributions by some of the invited speakers and contains recent results in control. The volume is intended for engineers, researchers, and students in control engineering.

ICAT is the oldest international conference on virtual reality and tele-existence. The 16th International Conference on Artificial Reality and Telexistence was held at the Zhejiang University of Technology, Hangzhou, P. R. China from November 29 to December 1, 2006. The main purpose of the conference is to provide opportunities for researchers and practitioners to present their research findings and exchange opinions on the development and use of such systems.
