Face Biometrics for Personal Identification : Multi-Sensory Multi-Modal Systems

This book provides an ample coverage of theoretical and experimental state-of-the-art work as well as new trends and directions in the biometrics field. It offers students and software engineers a thorough understanding of how some core low-level building blocks of a multi-biometric system are implemented. While this book covers a range of biometric traits including facial geometry, 3D ear form, fingerprints, vein structure, voice, and gait, its main emphasis is placed on multi-sensory and multi-modal face biometrics algorithms and systems. "Multi-sensory" refers to combining data from two or more biometric sensors, such as synchronized reflectance-based and temperature-based face images. "Multi-modal" biometrics means fusing two or more biometric modalities, like face images and voice timber. The first part addresses new and emerging face biometrics. Emphasis is placed on biometric systems where single sensor and single modality are employed in challenging imaging conditions. Earthquake alert with smartwatch = تنبيه الزلازل باستخدام الساعة الذكية

After the recent events and earthquakes that affected the region, resulting in the deaths of many individuals due to the lack of timely emergency response, the idea for this project emerged Earthquake Alert with Smartwatch. Initially, our application gathers information about the user, such as age, family members, and any existing medical conditions. In the event of an earthquake, the application sends an alert to the user. It receives earthquake information, such as ‘magnitude, time, location…’ from United States Geological Survey “USGS” through an API. If the user is within the geographical area affected by the earthquake, the application will assist the Smartwatch in calculating vital signs such as ‘heart rate and blood pressure’. Additionally, there is another artificial intelligence model that receives the user's audio recordings and converts them into written texts. All this information, along with the user's geographical location, will be sent to the nearest emergency point for the purpose of aiding those individuals trapped under the rubble.

Therefore, this study is about developing real-time video generation software, which generates a target video from a single input image. We are delighted to present the proceedings of the 8th IFIP/IEEE International Conference on Management of Multimedia Networks and Services (MMNS 2005). The MMNS 2005 conference was held in Barcelona, Spain on October 24–26, 2005. As in previous years, the conference brought together an international audience of researchers and scientists from industry and academia who are researching and developing state-of-the-art management systems, while creating a public venue for results dissemination and intellectual collaboration. This year marked a challenging chapter in the advancement of management systems for the wider management research community, with the growing complexities of the “so-called” multimedia over Internet, the proliferation of alternative wireless networks (WLL, WiFi and WiMAX) and 3G mobile services, intelligent and high-speed networks scalable multimedia services and the convergence of computing and communications for data, voice and video delivery. Contributions from the research community met this challenge with 65 paper submissions; 33 high-quality papers were subsequently selected to form the MMNS 2005 technical program. The diverse topics in this year’s program included wireless networking technologies, wireless network applications, quality of services, multimedia, Web applications, overlay network management, and bandwidth management.
