The improvements in computation and communication capabilities have enabled the creation of demanding applications in critical domains such as the environment, health, aerospace, and other areas of science and technology. Similarly, new classes of applications are enabled by the availability of heterogeneous large-scale distributed systems which are becoming available nowadays (based on technologies such as grid and peer-to-peer systems).Parallel computing systems exploit a large diversity of computer architectures, from supercomputers, shared-memory or distributed-memory multi processors, to local networks and clusters of p- sonal computers. With the recent emergence of multi core architectures, parallel computing is now set to achieve “mainstream” status. Approaches that have been advocated by parallel computing researchers in the past are now being utilized in a number of software libraries and hardware systems that are available for everyday use. Parallel computing ideas have also come to dominate areas such as multi user gaming (especially in the development of gaming engines based on “cell” arc- tectures).

This volume contains the 75 contributed papers and the abstracts of the threeinvited lectures presented at the 13th Annual European Symposium on Algo-rithms (ESA 2005), held in Spain, 2005. respectively.Papers were solicited in all areas of algorithmic research, including but notlimited to algorithmic aspects of networks, approximation and on-line algo-rithms, computational biology, computational geometry, computational financeand algorithmic game theory, data structures, database and information re-trieval, external memory algorithms, graph algorithms, graph drawing, machinelearning, mobile computing, pattern matching and data compression, quantumcomputing, and randomized algorithms. The algorithms could be sequential,distributed, or parallel. Submissions were especially encouraged in the area ofmathematical programming and operations research, including combinatorialoptimization, integer programming, polyhedral combinatorics, and semidefiniteprogramming.Each extended abstract was submitted to one of the two tracks.

This book treats the Mathematics of many important areas in digital information processing.It covers, in a unified presentation, five topics: Data Compression, Cryptography, Sampling (Signal Theory), Error Control Codes, Data Reduction. Algorithmic Aspects of Bioinformatics

Advances in bioinformatics and systems biology require improved computational methods for analyzing data, while progress in molecular biology is in turn influencing the development of computer science methods. This book introduces some key problems in bioinformatics, discusses the models used to formally describe these problems, and analyzes the algorithmic approaches used to solve them. Le champ des algorithmes d'approximation est aujourd'hui l'un des domaines de recherche les plus actifs en informatique. Il allie la profondeur de la théorie mathématique aux promesses d'applications pratiques d'un intérêt considérable. La plupart des problèmes issus d'applications relevant de domaines aussi différents que la conception de circuits VLSI, la conception et la planification de réseaux, l'ordonnancement, la théorie des jeux, la biologie ou la théorie des nombres, sont des problèmes NP-difficiles. Leur résolution exacte demanderait des ressources informatiques inaccessibles et ne peut donc être envisagée. Pour faire face à cette situation, un grand nombre d'algorithmes proposant des solutions approchées à ces problèmes ont été développés.

Algebraic Methods for Nonlinear Control Systems

Algebraic Groups and Lie Groups with Few Factors

Algebraic groups are treated in this volume from a group theoretical point of view and the obtained results are compared with the analogous issues in the theory of Lie groups. The main body of the text is devoted to a classification of algebraic groups and Lie groups having only few subgroups or few factor groups of different type. In particular, the diversity of the nature of algebraic groups over fields of positive characteristic and over fields of characteristic zero is emphasized. This is revealed by the plethora of three-dimensional unipotent algebraic groups over a perfect field of positive characteristic, as well as, by many concrete examples which cover an area systematically. In the final section, algebraic groups and Lie groups having many closed normal subgroups are determined.

AIU asset management system (Assettracker)

Assets can be defined as something of value that can be converted into cash, as all institutions and companies own assets and the larger the size of the organization, the greater the need to manage its owned assets. Some companies have resorted to manually tracking their assets by making paper data, but later, with the continuation of this approach, it has been noted that these data are largely lacking in organization and create difficulties in searching and tracking the life cycle of each asset separately. Here comes the role of our project, which is a software project based on automating assets and converting them from traditional methods to digital methods with the aim of obtaining the maximum benefit from assets in the organization by avoiding wasting assets, and issuing detailed reports indicating the decision-making process, in addition to the ability to deal with operations Effectively maintain assets.
