The content of thebook covers the current state-of-the-art literature on federated learning applications for cancer research and Vclinical oncology analysis, as well as an overview of the deep learning approaches improving the current standard of care for brain lesions and current neuroimaging challenges. It is also focusing on the accepted BrainLes workshop submissions, is to provide an overview of new advances of medical image analysis in all the aforementioned brain pathologies. It brings together researchers from the medical image analysis domain, neurologists, and radiologists working on at least one of these diseases. The aim is to consider neuroimaging biomarkers used for one disease applied to the other diseases.
Brain Metastases
Brain metastases are the most dreaded complication of systemic cancer, affecting approximately 170,000 people a year, a far greater incidence than primary brain tumors. Advances in modern chemotherapy have led to an improved control of system cancers, often with agents that poorly penetrate the central nervous system, resulting in an increasing incidence of brain metastases. Traditional chemotherapy has had little impact on brain metastases. The main therapeutic option is radiation therapy, and in a small number of patients - surgery. However, refinements in all of these treatments offer some positive outcomes and an increased ability to stratify patients based on certain criteria.

The advantages and disadvantages of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) are discussed by a group of experts with regard to the epidemiological evidence. However, the focus of the discussion is the problem of breast cancer risk. Among other things, it is shown that the results derived from epidemiological studies do not coincide with the growth characteristics of these tumors, so that further population studies with the inclusion of pathobiological expertise appear necessary. The benefits and risks of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) are discussed by a group of experts with a view towards the evidence provided by recent epidemiological studies. Although all aspects of HRT indications and contra-indications are reviewed, the particular emphasis of this discussion is on breast cancer. Among other things, it is shown that the evidence on breast cancer provided in epidemiological studies does not match the growth characteristics of the tumors, and that further population research incorporating pathobiological assessments is required.
Biologics in General Medicine
The idea for this book was born during the symposium on biologics organized by ZAFES (Center for Drug Research, Development and Safety at the University of Frankfurt am Main) in September 2005. Highly distinguished researchers special- ing in the field of biologics had gathered together to exchange information on this relatively new subject. Realizing that this symposium was one of the few sources of condensed information on biologics, it became obvious that we had to create a means of informing an interested wider circle of scientists and especially general c- nicians. Bio-Applications of Nanoparticles
In this edited book, we highlight the central players in the Bionanotechnology field, which are the nanostructures and biomolecules. The book starts by describing how nanostructures are synthesized and by describing the wide variety of nanostructures available for biological research and applications. Best diagnostic tools and supportive medication for cancer patients
Cancer is still a lethal disease despite the development of new effective therapies; therefore the purpose of our study was to improve the patient's outcome by looking for the best diagnostic tools, secondly to improve radiotherapy resistance since about 50% of all cancer patients are treated with it. The fir st par t of our study will be per formed in Alkhatib center and the selection of that hospital was upon its highly sensitive diagnostic tools, in which PET/ CT scan was playing a major role to improve survival as shown in few repor ts in our study, and it’s the only safe diagnostic tool for a per son who has a metal fragments after injury in the war which increased the number of such patients in our country dur ing the last decade. This diagnostic tool is based on FDGin which we can define the tumor by using sugar more than normal tissue.
