Diseases of the abdomen and Pelvis : Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Techniques
This volume is a collection of chapters dealing with imaging diagnosis and interventional therapies in abdominal and pelvic disease. The different topics are disease-oriented and encompass all the relevant imaging modalities including X-ray technology, nuclear medicine, ultrasound and magnetic resonance, as well as image-guided interventional techniques.
Discrete-time Sliding Mode Control : A Multirate Output Feedback Approach
Sliding mode control is a simple and yet robust control technique, where the system states are made to confine to a selected subset. With the increasing use of computers and discrete-time samplers in controller implementation in the recent past, discrete-time systems and computer based control have become important topics. This monograph presents an output feedback sliding mode control philosophy which can be applied to almost all controllable and observable systems, while at the same time being simple enough as not to tax the computer too much. It is shown that the solution can be found in the synergy of the multirate output sampling concept and the concept of discrete-time sliding mode control.

Diapause in Aquatic Invertebrates : Theory and Human Use

Our project is a distributed medical system that is used by patients and multiple medical sectors such as doctors, pharmacists, analysis labs, hospitals, and medical insurance companies. The aim of the project is to add and store all the patient’s medical data in our system, such as previous treatments and past medical records from previous doctors, previous prescriptions and older lab test’s results, in addition, the insurance companies will have the ability to check on the medical treatment of its customers to do the necessary procedures needed for the them to perform their work. All of our actors are working in a secure and synchronized system in order to provide the best medical results possible, each actor has its own transactions to do in our system and can only manage and access the data allowed for him to perform his required job.
Designing Organizations : 21st Century Approaches
The design of organizations has been an ongoing concern of management theory and practice over the past several decades. Over this time, there has been little change in the fundamental theory, principles and concepts of Organization Design (OD). Recently organizational life has changed dramatically with the advent of: new communication systems, adaptive mechanisms, information technology, knowledge management systems, innovation processes and more. This book systemically examines these developments and their impact on OD with contributions from leading scholars in the area. Also featured in the book are the practical issues with implementing OD in organizations. It is always a special honor to chair the European Dependable Computing C- ference (EDCC). EDCC has become one of the well-established conferences in the ?eld of dependability in the European research area. Budapest was selected as the host of this conference due to its traditions in organizing international scienti?c events and its traditional role of serving as a meeting point between East and West. EDCC-5 was the ?fth in the series of these high-quality scienti?c conf- ences. In addition to the overall signi?cance of such a pan-European event, this year’s conference was a special one due to historic reasons. The roots of EDCC date back to the moment when the Iron Curtain fell. Originally, two groups of scientists from di?erent European countries in Western and Eastern Europe – who were active in research and education related to dependability created a – joint forum in order to merge their communities as early as in 1989. This trend has continued up to today. This year’s conference was the ?rst one where the overwhelming majority of the research groups belong to the family of European nations united in the European Union. During the past 16 years we observed that the same roots in all the professional, cultural and scienti?c senses led to a seamless integration of these research communities previously separated ar- ?cially for a long time. EDCC has become one of the main European platforms to exchange new - searchideasinthe?eldofdependability.
