Labyrinth of Thought discusses the emergence and development of set theory and the set-theoretic approach to mathematics during the period 1850-1940. Rather than focusing on the pivotal figure of Georg Cantor, it analyzes his work and the emergence of transfinite set theory within the broader context of the rise of modern mathematics. The text has a tripartite structure.A new Epilogue for this second edition offers further reflections on the foundations of set theory, including the "dichotomy conception" and the well-known iterative conception.

Multiple sclerosis is one of the most frequent causes of chronic disability in young adults. It mainly affects individuals between 20 and 50 years of age, with a peak of incidence around the age of 30. This disease is characterized by the presence of demyelinating lesions of an inflammatory nature disseminated in the central nervous system. The different localization of these lesions is at the basis of the variability of clinical symptoms which can be characterized by motor, sensory, neurovegetative and cognitive disorders. The latter concern about half of the patients affected by this pathology and have a significant impact on the personal, family and work situation of these patients.

Oral cosmetology has no official recognition, yet the effects of plant extracts on the condition of the skin and integuments are well known. After an introduction to the physiology of the skin, the dosage and the phenomena of skin deterioration, the author discusses different types of treatment depending on the extracts used while explaining their mode of action. This work was written by a doctor, Doctor Paul Goetz, teacher in clinical phytotherapy, and a pharmacist, Doctor Christian Busser, pharmaceutical and scientific advisor, doctor in ethnology and ethnopharmacologist.

This work is a collection of the most recent developments in terms of physiopathological knowledge of disc involvement, clinical examination and the place of surgery and in particular disc prostheses. Medical treatments such as infiltrations, manipulations, the benefit of restraints and the provision of acupuncture are being developed. Also discussed are the latest scientific data on isokinetic evaluation and retraining, as well as the role of sports activity as a factor in the prevention or aggravation of low back pain. Finally, the medico-legal aspect is dealt with in the context of work accidents, and the assessment after trauma. This book is the result of the collaboration and experience of undisputed specialists in this field.

More specialized aspects are discussed in a second part of the book concerning the future of medical treatment (biology, gene therapy) and certain complex problems of surgical techniques. The points of controversy concerning the total knee replacement are discussed in the last part of the book, of interest to physicians and surgeons.

With this publication, the authors wanted to offer specialists working in the field of assisted reproduction an update on this complex subject, dealing with both genetic causes in male infertility and infertility in genetic diseases.

As clinical and rehabilitation practice shows, children with dyspraxia are unable to plan and organize an action plan; they cannot control what they are doing during an action; therefore, they cannot do something, but we could also admit that they cannot yet do something; that is, they have not yet learned to perform functions. Functions and actions, however, can be learned and performed with the help of targeted exercises performed consistently. It is, however, essential to recognize the difficulties children with dyspraxia face when faced with new, unusual tasks. The author proposes an assessment and intervention model that takes into account etiological and neuropsychological hypotheses, emphasizing the need to proceed with an analysis on multiple levels: perceptual, motor, and representational. Particular importance is given to early diagnosis and intervention to define and implement appropriate treatment plans. The work concludes with the analysis and description of clinical cases related to some specific forms of dyspraxia: verbal dyspraxia and dysgraphia.

He is a member of the French Acupuncture Association, the French Acupuncture College and the Ricci Institute.
