The Theory of the Moiré Phenomenon ; Vol. II : Aperiodic Layers
Since The Theory of the Moiré Phenomenon was published it became the main reference book in its field. It provided for the first time a complete, unified and coherent theoretical approach for the explanation of the moiré phenomenon, starting from the basics of the theory, but also going in depth into more advanced research results. However, it is clear that a single book cannnot cover the full breadth of such a vast subject, and indeed, this original volume admittently concentrated on only some aspects of the moiré theory, while other interesting topics had to be left out.

The Stability of Matter : From Atoms to Stars Selecta of Elliott H. Lieb
This collection of papers -- starting with a brilliant article by one of the masters of the field -- gives an excellent current review of our knowledge of matter. Partially basing his own work on a variational formulation of quantum mechanics, E.H. Lieb links the difficult question of the stability of matter with important problems in functional analysis. Here the reader will find general results together with deep insights into quantum systems combined with papers on the structure of atoms and molecules, the thermodynamic limit, and stellar structures. The book is suitable as an accompanying text or recommended reading for a graduate course in quantum mechanics. In the third edition, two new sections were added: one contains papers on quantum electrodynamics, and the other on Boson systems. In this fourth edition, these topics have been further developed, extending the book by approximately 120 pages.
The Sociology of Community Connections
Intervention to bring about beneficial social change is the theme of this second edition of Sociological Practice. Written for upper division and graduate students interested in careers in sociological practice or applied sociology, the authors show how sociological theories and methods can be used in intervening to solve or prevent current social problems. The books include Applications, Tables, and Figures to expand upon and illustrate the narrative text. Changes to this edition include up to date coverage of all topics including a new chapter on multifactor multilevel problem solving.

The Science of Phototherapy : An Introduction
Phototherapy exemplifies scientific medicine. The major advances have resulted from effective collaborations between basic researchers and clinicians. This book is directed to clinicians and basic researchers who are interested in current and emerging implementations of phototherapy. It can serve as an introductory reference and a textbook for advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in medical physics and biomedical engineering. The emphasis is on the science underlying the various phototherapy procedures, which encompasses aspects of classical and molecular photophysics, biological photochemistry, photobiology and biophotonics. Topics that do not usually appear in other general sources include the theory and applications of tissue optics, Monte Carlo simulation, light dosimetry, and analytical modeling of laser surgery. Many illustrative problems with answers are provided to exemplify the more quantitative aspects of each topic.
The SAGES Manual of Strategic Decision Making : Case Studies in Minimal Access Surgery
The SAGES Manual of Strategic Decision Making: Case Studies in Minimal Access Surgery is an excellent resource and clinical decision-making tool for general surgeons and residents. While other SAGES manuals simply discuss core topics in minimally-invasive surgery and GI endoscopy, this unique book explores fifty scenarios with a focus on the decision process that leads to an optimal treatment plan. The case-based format creates a quick and easy-to-read text that is rooted in real life scenarios in general and laparoscopic surgery and the strategic decisions every surgeon must learn to make. Each of the fifty thought-provoking cases is concisely presented with illustrated surgical techniques and an evidence-based review of related literature.
The routledge companion to consumer behavior
Shows a micro to macro structure, dividing each topic into three parts: One reflecting foundational work, one focused on emerging trends, and one covering practical applications. Each part examines the relationship between consumer behaviour and motivation, including well-being, gender, social class, and more, and concludes with practitioner perspectives on the challenges and opportunities that come with understanding customers. Readers will gain insight into how drives that are constantly in flux relate to other aspects of human cognition and behavior, Allowing them to reach customers successfully, and to meet their needs.

The Role of Management Accounting Systems in Strategic Sensemaking
Marcus Heidmann explores the role of management accounting systems (MAS) in strategic sensemaking. Based on cognitive theories, the author defines strategic sensemaking as a learning process with observation, interpretation, and communication as the relevant process steps on the individual level. He illustrates the impact of MAS on these cognitive processes by an exploratory multiple-case study design. He shows that managers do not primarily use MAS to identify strategic topics but to search for additional information that helps them to make sense of these issues. In particular, the interactive use of MAS contributes to strategic sensemaking by providing directions and facilitating interactions that help to resolve equivocality of strategic issues.
