Selective autophagy : Methods and protocols
Presents the latest techniques used by researchers to study selective autophagy in a broad range of organisms such as yeast, plants, worms, fruit flies, and mammals. Security of Water Supply Systems : From Source to Tap
Recent reviews indicate the existence of significant vulnerabilities of all components of the infrastructure in general, among which the water supply systems are considered the most critical because of it’s importance to human life. Indeed, such systems encompas huge number of stuctures, plants and devices that might become a target of sabotage, and they all may be found in major components of each water supply system: the raw water sources (usually a reservoir, a river intake, or groundwater aquifer), water purification plants (encompassing various treatment processes), and water distribution networks bringing potable water to the consumers. Consequently, the reality of the post-September 11 situation forces the operators of water supply systems throught the world to examine the security and safety of their systems, it’s vulnerability to intentional interference and sabotage with respect to quantity and quality of potable water. In assessing the system vulnerability, there is an urgent need to develop emergency response plans providing ways and means for alternative water supply for the moment of system operation disruption, and system remediation and recovery after the attack.

Secondary Metabolites in Soil Ecology
Secondary Metabolites in Soil Ecology focuses on the role of bacterial, fungal and plant secondary metabolites in soil ecosystems. Our understanding of the biological function of secondary metabolites is surprisingly limited, considering our knowledge of their structural diversity and pharmaceutically relevant activities. This volume reviews functional aspects of secondary metabolite production, with a focus on interactions among soil organisms. Topics such as truffle metabolites and burnt phenomenon, ecology of mycotoxins in soil, root exudates, and chemical interactions between Streptomyces and mycorrhiza fungi are treated. Further aspects are the role of microbial metabolites as quorum sensing signals, their role in protecting plants against pathogens and the effect of volatiles on soil invertebrates. Chapters describing techniques for the detection of antibiotics in soil and the application of metabolomics to rhizosphere research, which has advanced rapidly in recent years, complement the book.

Scarcity Marketing : Impact of Limited-ed. Packaging on Purchase Intentions in The Syrian Market
The Syrian market have relied on the basic scarcity product tactics, but creativity and uniqueness have become more in need, hence that is what this paper aims at delivering by evaluating the effectiveness of limited-edition packaging as a scarcity product tactic. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of scarcity messages on the consumer’s purchase intention. Specifically, we explore the effect of LEP’s on the consumer’s purchase intention using limited time, limited quantity and FOMO as moderators. how they affect the purchase intention of consumers, and how the feeling of ‘Fear of Missing Out’ (FOMO) does influence this relationship. For this research, an online questionnaire has been conducted among 306 participants, focused within the context of food and beverages. The results show that there is positive impact of LEPs on consumer purchase intentions, in addition to the positive moderation effect that was founded, strengthening the relationship furthermore.

Rural Retirement Migration
This book examines the migration of older persons to rural retirement destinations in the United States. While the majority of older persons are residentially stable, those who migrate are disproportionately likely to move to a rural community. Moreover, with the aging of the baby boom generation, particular rural communities can expect to continue attracting older in-migrants in the future. The book examines rural retirement migration from the older in-migrants’ perspective and from the vantage point of the destination communities to which they move. This integrated micro-macro approach permits the authors to view older in-migrants as embedded in particular types of environments that facilitate and/or constrain their opportunities for productive living during older age. It also permits the examination of positive and negative effects of older in-migration for destination communities.

RNA Interference
The use of RNA interference (RNAi) to evoke gene silencing in mammalian cells has almost become routine laboratory practice. Through refinement of double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) triggers of RNAi and creation of genome-scale libraries, the first genome-wide loss of function screens have been carried out in mammals. This review discusses some of the key features of RNAi in mammalian systems.
RNA Editing
The term "RNA editing" describes a diverse set of biochemical processes whereby genetic information is modulated on a post-transcriptional level i.e. on the level of ribonucleic acids (RNA). RNA editing has been demonstrated in viruses, protozoan organisms, in plants and in mammals and in many cases it has been identified as a key step in the regulation of gene expression. This book dedicates a chapter to each of the main types of RNA editing. All sections are written by experts in the various research areas and a specific focus is put on the correlation between RNA structure and function, as well as on the complex cellular machineries that catalyze the different editing reactions.
