Cosmeceuticals as Game Changers in the Cosmetic Industry
Objectives of this work is to compare conventional cosmetics to biotechnology derived cosmeceuticals in terms of skin anti-aging, skin color modulation and hair growth, and to find out which is of greater overall performance. Research revealed superiority of cosmeceuticals to classical cosmetics as it was found that many classical cosmetic agents used for aesthetical purposes posed a certain level of either ineffectiveness, for the reason that the effect did not treat the cause of the problem and was merely temporary and external, or harmfulness because of proposed potential health risks and adverse effects. Whereas cosmeceuticals presented promising novel mechanisms and compounds for a deeper, more thorough remedy.
Corporate governance : Evolving practices and emerging challenges ; Vol 21 : Business, management and economics
Provides a thorough analysis of the evolving dynamics of corporate gover- nance. the discussions encompass a broad range of issues, reflecting both the endur- ing foundations and the innovative approaches reshaping contemporary governance across various global contexts. the work begins by exploring the critical interplay between corporate social responsibility and corporate performance, examining trends across several economic sectors and geographic regions. this sets the stage for deeper inquiries into how different regulatory and cultural landscapes influence governance practices. particular emphasis is placed on the integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors, which are becoming increasingly significant in shap- ing corporate policies worldwide. the book also investigates how these practices are implemented in different industries and the emerging challenges that corporations face in adhering to these new standards.

Chapters 4, 5, and 6 are entirely new, covering important topics such as the Hardy-Littlewood-Pólya-Schur theory of majorization, matrix convexity, and the Legendre-Fenchel-Moreau duality theory.
Convex Functions and their Applications : A Contemporary Approach ; 1st ed.
Convex functions play an important role in many branches of mathematics, as well as other areas of science and engineering. The present text is aimed to a thorough introduction to contemporary convex function theory, which entails a powerful and elegant interaction between analysis and geometry. A large variety of subjects are covered, from one real variable case (with all its mathematical gems) to some of the most advanced topics such as the convex calculus, Alexandrov’s Hessian, the variational approach of partial differential equations, the Prékopa-Leindler type inequalities and Choquet's theory.
Control of Spatially Structured Random Processes and Random Fields with Applications
This book is devoted to the study and optimization of spatiotemporal stochastic processes, that is, processes which develop simultaneously in space and time under random influences. These processes are seen to occur almost everywhere when studying the global behavior of complex systems.Classical stochastic dynamic optimization forms the framework of the book. Taken as a whole, the project undertaken in the book is to establish optimality or near-optimality for Markovian policies in the control of spatiotemporal Markovian processes. The authors apply this general principle to different frameworks of Markovian systems and processes. Depending on the structure of the systems and the surroundings of the model classes the authors arrive at different levels of simplicity for the policy classes which encompass optimal or nearly optimal policies. A set of examples accompanies the theoretical findings, and these examples should demonstrate some important application areas for the theorems discussed.
Contemporary Treatment Techniques in Pediatric Dentistry
This clinical guide acquire a clear understanding of contemporary treatment protocols for primary and young permanent teeth while serving as a guide to integrate these procedures into their private or institutional practice. The background to the book is the emergence in recent years of important paradigm shifts in treatment concepts.
Contemporary Sociological Theory : An Integrated Multi-Level Approach
This book covers the major theoretical orientations that have been influential in American sociology since the mid-twentieth century. These include symbolic interaction, phenomenological sociology and ethnomethodology, social exchange and rational choice theories, sociology of emotions, functionalism and neofunctionalism, conflict and critical theory, selected feminist theories, structuration theory, systems theory, sociobiology, selected sociology of culture perspectives, and major themes from postmodern orientations.
Contemporary restoration of endodontically treated teeth : evidence-based diagnosis and treatment planning
Traditional principles and techniques are reviewed and reinforced, along with modern materials and methods, all with a firm foundation in the best available scientific evidence and with an emphasis on clinical studies. Many of the chapters provide comprehensive, step-by-step descriptions of technical procedures with accompanying illustrations to guide the reader through every stage of restoring pulpless teeth, including fabrication of various foundation restorations, cementation techniques, and methods of provisionalization.
Contemporary Reflections on Business Ethics
Ronald F. Duska, who began his career as a philosopher, has, over the last 30 years, established himself as one of the leading scholars in the field of business ethics. In the past decade, he has concentrated on ethics in the financial services industry because of his affiliation with The American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, an institution that specializes in educating financial services professionals. This affiliation gives Duska regular interaction with producers, managers, and top executives in the financial services industry. This book includes a selection of the articles Duska has written throughout the years on ethics, business ethics, teaching ethics, agency theory, postmodernism, employee rights, and ethics in accounting and the financial services industry. The articles reflect Duska’s underlying philosophical concerns and their application to the real-world challenges of practitioners—an overarching method that might be called an Aristotelian common-sense approach to ethical decision making.
Contemporary Qualitative Research : Exemplars for Science and Mathematics Educators
This volume offers a unique set of research exemplars for science, mathematics and technology educators.
