Sourcing Strategy : Principles, Policy and Designs
Sourcing Strategy is about sourcing as a long term strategic activity. Myopic purchasing management stops short with describing functional procedures and procedural innovations such as online order processing. The goal of this book is not just to document sourcing strategy, but to provide the tools to determine it. Therefore, rather than merely describing common sourcing processes, the book takes a normative approach to sourcing strategy. It argues for a rational, complete and integrated process where managers confront conflicts and dilemmas inherent in sourcing. Solitary Waves in Dispersive Complex Media : Theory, Simulation, Applications
This book is devoted to one of the most interesting and rapidly developing areas of modern nonlinear physics and mathematics - the theoretical, analytical and advanced numerical, study of the structure and dynamics of one-dimensional as well as two- and three-dimensional solitons and nonlinear waves described by Korteweg-de Vries (KdV), Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (KP), nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) and derivative NLS (DNLS) classes of equations. Special attention is paid to generalizations (relevant to various complex physical media) of these equations, accounting for higher-order dispersion corrections, influence of dissipation, instabilities, and stochastic fluctuations of the wave fields. The book addresses researchers working in the theory and numerical simulations of dispersive complex media in such fields as hydrodynamics, plasma physics, and aerodynamics. It will also be useful as a reference work for graduate students in physics and mathematics.
Solar and Space Weather Radiophysics : Current Status and Future Developments
Most of the chapters of this book are based on invited talks at the FASR Science Workshop, held in Greenbank, W Vin May 2002, and a special session on Solar and Space Weather Radiophysics held at the 200th American Astronomical Society meeting held in Albuquerque, NM in June 2002. Although many of the chapters deal with topics of interest in planning for FASR, other topics in Solar and Space Weather Radiophysics, such as solar radar and interplanetary scintillation, are covered to round out the discipline. The authors have been asked to write with a tutorial approach, to make the book useful to graduate students and scientists new to radio physics. This book is more than a compilation of FASR science topics. The FASR instrument concept is so revolutionary — by extending capability by an order of magnitude in several dimensions at once (frequency coverage, spatial resolution, dynamic range,time resolution,polarizationprecision)—that it challenges scientists to think in new ways.
Solanaceae and Convolvulaceae : Secondary Metabolites Biosynthesis, Chemotaxonomy, Biological and Economic Significance : A handbook)
Provides a bird's-eye view of two centuries of research on secondary metabolites of the two large Solanales families, Solanaceae and Convolvulaceae. Arranged according to their biosynthetic principles, the occurrence and chemical structures of almost all known individual secondary metabolites are covered, which are found in hundreds of wild as well as cultivated solanaceous and convolvulaceous species. In addition to the biosynthesis, the pharmacological, toxicological, ethnobotanical, ecological, and economic significance of the metabolites is treated. A major aim of this book is the individual phytochemical characterization of the Solanales taxa on the species level. Species are integrated into frameworks of traditional and molecular phylogeny-based classifications. This allows a detailed discussion of chemotaxonomic relationships with regard to all taxon levels up to the order.

In order to be competitive, software should contain advanced features and run reliably – yet it should be developed quickly and cost e?ectively for the right market window. Finding the right balance between these objectives is a critical question that will determine business success in the years to come. Our second theme, “production of software with a dynamic partnership n- work” highlights the current trend of using partnerships and subcontractors as integral players in the software development process. Partnerships sometimes need to be created quickly to respond to a market opportunity, yet the costs and speed of cooperation must be competitive.
Software product lines in action : The best industrial practice in product line engineering
Software product lines represent perhaps the most exciting paradigm shift in software development since the advent of high-level programming languages. Nowhere else in software engineering have we seen such breathtaking improvements in cost, quality, time to market, and developer productivity, often registering in the order-of-magnitude range. While the underlying concepts are straightforward enough – building a family of related products or systems by planned and careful reuse of a base of generalized software development assets – the devil can be in the details, as successful product line practice can involve organizational change, business process change, and technology change.
Software Engineering for Experimental Robotics

On behalf of the Organizing Committee we are pleased to present the proceedings of the 2007 Symposium on Software Composition (SC2007).The goal of SC2007 was to bring together the research and industrial communities in order to address the challenges of the component-based softwaredevelopment approach. SC 2007 was the sixth symposium on software composition in the SC series that seeks to develop a better understanding of how software components may be used to build and maintain large software systems. This LNCS volume contains the revised versions of the papers presented at SC 2007, which was held as a satellite event of the European Joint Conferences on Theory and Practice of Software (ETAPS) in Braga, Portugal, March 24–25, 2007.
Soft real-time systems : Predictability vs. efficiency

Smart employee analyzer
In this project we propose an app that functions as an office helper system with a job interview ranker. To help with the hiring process, automated deception detection was performed by analyzing verbal and non-verbal cues and deploying various machine learning methods in order to detect deceit. The best results on video, audio and text were 97% , 96%, 92% respectively. Audio models used were SVM reaching 96% on the real-life dataset. Text models , SVM , NB reached 92% , 88% respectfully on Real-life dataset. Image models CNN reached 97% on real-life dataset.
