This year’s proceedings are comprised of 50 research papers that have been double – blind peer reviewed by at three reviewers and represent the global corpus of state-of-the art ICT Travel and Tourism research.
Information and communication technologies in tourism 2005 ; Proceedings of the International Conference in Innsbruck, Austria, 2005
The key objectives of this premier conference in ICT in travel and tourism are the dissemination of research findings and strong interaction among researchers and practitioners. The conference theme this year is "eBusiness is here ? – what is next?" The future is being explored by researchers from all perspectives – papers examine the basic architectures and systems underlying how toursim information is provided and how the marketplace is responding. Trip advisory research is now moving from the speculative to the sophisticated reflecting the rapidly changing individual skill sets, motivations and goals of today's tourist while an emerging collection of work is investigating the growing phenomenon of collaboration and community-building. A close examiniation of the 51 research papers will reveal the full extent of marketing-oriented research and show how strong the link is between ICT developments per se and business adoption and use of the new technologies and systems.

Informatics in Control, Automation and Robotics II is a collection of the best papers presented at the 2nd International Conference on Informatics in Control, Automation and Robotics (ICINCO). The purpose of ICINCO was to bring together researchers, engineers and practitioners interested in the application of informatics to Control, Automation and Robotics.
Informatics in Control, Automation and Robotics I
The present book includes a set of selected papers from the first “International Conference on Informatics in Control Automation and Robotics” (ICINCO 2004), held in Setúbal, Portugal, from 25 to 28 August 2004. The conference was organized in three simultaneous tracks: “Intelligent Control Systems and Optimization”, “Robotics and Automation” and “Systems Modeling, Signal Processing and Control”. The book is based on the same structure.
Informatics education - supporting computational thinking ; 3rd International Conference on informatics in secondary schools : Evolution and perspectives, ISSEP 2008 Torun Poland, July 1-4, 2008 Proceedings
Informatics Education – Supporting Computational Thinking contains papers presented at the Third International Conference on Informatics in Secondary Schools – Evolution and Perspective, ISSEP 2008, held in July 2008 in Torun, Poland. As with the proceedings of the two previous ISSEP conferences (2005 in Klag- furt, Austria, and 2006 in Vilnius, Lithuania), the papers presented in this volume address issues of informatics education transcending national boundaries and, the- fore, transcending differences in the various national legislation and organization of the educational system. Observing these issues, one might notice a trend. The p- ceedings of the First ISSEP were termed From Computer Literacy to Informatics F- damentals [1]. There, broad room was given to general education in ICT.
Influence and Power : Variations on a Messy Theme
This volume contains an extensive overview and critical assessment, explores the conceptual relationship between freedom and power, assesses the distinctions made in existing scholarship between power and influence, presents the author’s own proposal for a definition of influence as opposed to power, combines insights from political theory, legal philosophy and the general theory of norms , is densely argued, yet accessible to all interested readers without any prerequisite of special prior knowledge.
Infinite matrices and their finite sections : An introduction to the limit operator method
In this book we are concerned with the study of a certain class of infinite matrices and two important properties of them: their Fredholmness and the stability of the approximation by their finite truncations. Let us take these two properties as a starting point for the big picture that shall be presented in what follows. Stability Fredholmness We think of our infinite matrices as bounded linear operators on a Banach space E of two-sided infinite sequences. The class of operators we are interested in consists of those bounded and linear operatorson E which can be approximated in the operator norm by b and matrices. We refer to them as band-dominated operators. Of course, these considerations 2 are not limited to the space E = . We will widen the selection of the underlying space E in three directions: p
Infectious diseases from nature : Mechanisms of viral emergence and persistence
many outstanding virologists and others presented papers under the broad theme of "emergence". The intent was to elucidate the diseases themselves, the mechanisms by which they have emerged, the publication perception and response to the diseases, and the possibility of prevention or prediction. The papers in this book summarize the talks of this meeting.
Inductive Dependency Parsing
This book provides an in-depth description of the framework of inductive dependency parsing, a methodology for robust and efficient syntactic analysis of unrestricted natural language text. This methodology is based on two essential components: dependency-based syntactic representations and a data-driven approach to syntactic parsing. More precisely, it is based on a deterministic parsing algorithm in combination with inductive machine learning to predict the next parser action.
Individual Criminal Responsibility for Core International Crimes : Selected Pertinent Issues
The media has, of course, played a crucial role in increasing awareness of this concept, especially amongst the general populace. Indeed, the concept has, arguably, a much higher profile today, than ever before in its history. However, the concept of individual criminal responsibility for core inter- tional crimes is neither as straightforward nor as single-facetted, as might appear on first glance. While the general principle behind the concept does not generate too many difficulties, it is in its practical application that the more challenging aspects of the concept are brought to the fore. Each of these ‘challenging - pects’ can also be described as a ‘pertinent issue’ of the concept of individual criminal responsibility for core international crimes.

The text is based on authentic treatises which are the outcome of scientific screening and critical evaluation by eminent scholars.
In the Pursuit of Winning : Problem Gambling Theory, Research and Treatment
Poker websites. State lotteries. Sports betting. As gambling outlets become easier to find, more—and younger—people are risking their finances, family lives, and health. In the Pursuit of Winning brings together an international panel of 35 experts to present theoretical, clinical, sociological, historical, and spiritual perspectives on problem gambling, and test popular addiction and disease models in the field. Early chapters examine the general psychology of gambling, before moving on to the irrational ideas associated with compulsive wagering, from belief in luck to illusions of control. The seven chapters in the second half are devoted to evidence-based interventions from a variety of clinical orientations. Case examples, Q&A sections, and a glossary add extra readability to the coverage.
Improving Inclusive Education through Universal Design for Learning
Provides an analysis of how the educational strategy of Universal Design for Learning can stimulate the process of inclusive education in different educational-cultural contexts and different areas of the educational system. The findings of the research deepen the conception of inclusive education and present an analysis of factors that are significant for developing the educational system as well as providing evidence-based recommendations for educational practice. The research for this work was done in four European countries with various historical-cultural contexts: Lithuania and Poland underwent a transformation of the educational systems at the turning point in their political system, shifting from a strictly centralized Soviet policy to a liberal and democratic education system; Austria has experienced changes in social stratification and a need for cultural harmonisation arising from active national migration processes, whereas Finland has been gradually developing a socio-democratic model of national welfare.
