NETWORKING 2002 : Networking technologies, services, and protocols ; performance of computer and communication Networks, mobile and wireless communications ; 2nd International IFIP-TC6 Networking Conference, Pisa, Italy, May 19-24, 2002 Proceedings
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Second IFIP-TC6 Netw- king Conference, Networking 2002. Networking 2002 was sponsored bythe IFIP Working Groups 6.2, 6.3, and 6.8. For this reason the conference was structured into three tracks: i) Networking Technologies, Services, and Protocols, ii) Perf- mance of Computer and Communication Networks, and iii) Mobile and Wireless Communications. This year the conference received 314 submissions coming from 42 countries from all ?ve continents Africa (4), Asia (84), America (63), Europe (158), and Oc- nia (5).
Developing Services for the Wireless Internet
This book is for developers of wireless Internet services. It addresses the technical issues that can get in the way of the production of a successful service: variability of terminals, unstable technology, incomplete testing environment, variable bandwidth and quality of service. Useful techniques and methods when handing these issues are proposed using two case studies: a mobile game and a mobile trading service.

We are delighted to present the proceedings of the 8th IFIP/IEEE International Conference on Management of Multimedia Networks and Services (MMNS 2005). The MMNS 2005 conference was held in Barcelona, Spain on October 24–26, 2005. As in previous years, the conference brought together an international audience of researchers and scientists from industry and academia who are researching and developing state-of-the-art management systems, while creating a public venue for results dissemination and intellectual collaboration. This year marked a challenging chapter in the advancement of management systems for the wider management research community, with the growing complexities of the “so-called” multimedia over Internet, the proliferation of alternative wireless networks (WLL, WiFi and WiMAX) and 3G mobile services, intelligent and high-speed networks scalable multimedia services and the convergence of computing and communications for data, voice and video delivery. Contributions from the research community met this challenge with 65 paper submissions; 33 high-quality papers were subsequently selected to form the MMNS 2005 technical program. The diverse topics in this year’s program included wireless networking technologies, wireless network applications, quality of services, multimedia, Web applications, overlay network management, and bandwidth management.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Second International Conference on Web-Age Information Management, WAIM 2001, held in Xi'an, China, in July 2001.The 21 revised full papers and 12 short papers presented together with 4 research experience papers were carefully reviewed and selected for inclusion in the proceedings. The papers are organized in topical sections on multimedia databases and high-dimensional indexing, information retrieval and text indexing, data mining, semistructured data management, data warehousing and federated databases, Web information management and e-commerce, spatio-temporal and high-dimensional information management, data mining and constraint management, data integration and filtering, and workflow and adaptive systems.
