He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences from Louis Pasteur University – Strasbourg in France, a Master’s degree in Transition Metal Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, in addition to a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Chemistry from the University of Damascus, and a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Chemistry from the same university.

Following his doctorate, he worked as a researcher in the Laboratory of Nano-Chemistry and Supramolecular Materials at the University of Notre Dame – Belgium, where he focused on drug delivery systems. He then assumed prominent academic and administrative positions at several private Syrian universities. He currently serves as the Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at the Arab International University. Previously, he held the positions of President of Al-Rashid Private University for Science and Technology, President of Al-Jazeera Private University, in addition to other significant academic and administrative roles at various Syrian universities, including Al-Qalamoun University, the Syrian Private University, and Al-Jazeera University.

Alongside his academic work, Dr. Thallaj holds international editorial positions. He is a member of the editorial boards of scientific journals such as Biomedicine and Chemical Sciences, Transactions on Sustainable Biomedical Engineering, and African Journal of Biomedical, Chemical and Physical Sciences.

He has published over 110 peer-reviewed scientific papers in prestigious international journals, in addition to dozens of research works in the fields of chemistry, drug design, medicinal plants, biochemistry, nanotechnology, and antibiotics. He has also participated in international scientific conferences and presented research in France, Germany, and the United States. Furthermore, he has supervised numerous Master’s and Bachelor’s students in France and Syria.
