Abstract | This chapter discusses the status of higher education in Syria before and during the crisis. It sheds light on the obstacles that hinder academic mobility including the weakened relations with foreign academic institutions in addition to other logistic issues like visas, international language tests, and having to travel to neighboring mediating countries. Furthermore, this chapter highlights some alternative options like virtual education and online tests. In the end, the chapter discusses some of the students’ opinions with regard to the suggested solutions and it also mentions some of their experiences and suggestions.
