Dr. Anas Al-Dirshawi

A professor specialized in Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh) and its principles (Usul al-Fiqh). He holds a Bachelor's degree in Islamic Sharia from the Faculty of Sharia at the University of Damascus, followed by a postgraduate diploma in Islamic jurisprudence and its principles, and a diploma in pedagogical qualification from the Faculty of Education at the University of Damascus. He continued his academic journey, earning a Master's degree in Islamic jurisprudence and its principles, and then a PhD in Islamic jurisprudence and its principles from the University of Damascus.

Dr. Anas currently holds a faculty position at the Faculty of Law, Arab International University (AIU). He also served as Head of the Private Law Department at the faculty during 2020–2021 and again during 2023–2024. He has been a member of the Sharia Supervisory Board of Sham Bank since 2025. He lectures at several prestigious academic institutions, including the Second Faculty of Law at the University of Damascus – Daraa Branch, the Faculty of Sharia at the University of Damascus, and the Syrian Virtual University, covering private law and Islamic economics courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Dr. Anas has an extensive scholarly output in the fields of Islamic jurisprudence and comparative law. He has published numerous peer-reviewed papers in local and international journals, addressing topics such as the binding force of contracts, the judge's authority to modify contracts, emerging conditions in financial contracts, and supply contracts. He has also participated in international events and seminars, most notably the International Seminar on Women's Rights in Algeria in 2023, where he presented a paper on the role of women in witnessing marriage contracts according to Islamic jurisprudence and Arab laws. In addition, he supervises many graduation projects for students of the Faculty of Law at the Arab International University and participates in academic arbitration committees.
