Dr. Mohamed Monther Al-Sabbagh

Professor of Periodontology at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Damascus
He possesses over twenty years of academic and research experience in university teaching, scientific research, and postgraduate supervision. He holds a PhD in Dental Sciences (Periodontology) from the University of Damascus, in addition to two postgraduate diplomas in Periodontology and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Surgery from the University of Damascus.

Professor Al-Sabbagh progressed through the academic ranks from Lecturer to Assistant Professor, and then to Professor since 2017. He has served as Head of the Department of Periodontology at several private universities and has taught periodontology courses at multiple Syrian universities. He has actively contributed to the development of educational curricula, as well as clinical and laboratory teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Professor Al-Sabbagh has an outstanding scientific output published in peer-reviewed international journals, covering advanced topics in periodontics, dental implants, bone regeneration, the use of platelet derivatives, and sinus lift techniques. He has also authored several accredited university textbooks in periodontology and supervised a large number of Master’s and Doctoral theses in his fields of expertise.

His research and clinical interests focus on periodontal diseases, dental implants, tissue and bone regeneration, supportive periodontal therapy, and advanced non-surgical and surgical techniques in dentistry. He is regarded as one of the prominent academic figures in this field.
