Dr. Gual Ilieas

An Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and academic researcher with over 18 years of extensive experience in clinical practice, university teaching, and scientific research. He earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Damascus University, followed by a Higher Diploma, Master’s degree, and Ph.D. in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also a certified specialist by the Syrian Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Al-Ali served as a resident surgeon at the Damascus University Hospital for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for nine years, gaining vast clinical expertise in minor and major surgical procedures. His clinical proficiency includes impacted tooth extractions, fracture surgeries, sinus lifts, as well as soft and hard tissue surgeries.

His international experience includes serving as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at Al-Jazeera Medical Center in Qatar (licensed by QCHP) from 2015 to 2020, where he provided advanced surgical services under high-quality standards. He currently holds professional medical licenses in both Syria and Qatar.

In the academic sphere, he has contributed as a faculty member and lecturer at several Syrian universities, including Damascus University, Arab International University (AIU), and the International University for Science and Technology (IUST), where he served as the Head of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department (2022–2023). Most recently, he taught at Al-Sham Private University (SPU) (2023–2024). His teaching expertise covers Oral Surgery, Surgical Extraction, Head and Neck Anatomy, and Major/Minor Maxillofacial Surgeries.

Dr. Al-Ali has published several peer-reviewed research papers in local and regional journals. His research includes clinical studies on the effectiveness of topical Tramadol for post-extraction pain management and studies on sinus lift procedures using the balloon technique, including radiographic and clinical success factor analysis.

He has participated in numerous regional and international scientific conferences and has completed specialized training in Qatar in fields such as Infection Control, Compassionate Care in Healthcare, Management of Sports-related Oral Trauma, and Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) disorders.
