Dr. Amir Kazzaz
He serves as Head of the Department of Operative Dentistry at the Faculty of Dentistry,
Arab International University. He is a specialist in Endodontics and Restorative Dentistry and an academic researcher, with more than fifteen years of clinical and teaching experience. He earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Damascus and pursued postgraduate specialization in operative dentistry, obtaining a Postgraduate Diploma, a Master’s degree, and ultimately a PhD in Endodontics. His doctoral dissertation was entitled “Evaluation of Endodontic Treatment in Permanent Teeth with Irreversible Pulpitis Using Bioactive Bioceramic Materials (Histological–Clinical–Radiographic Study).”
He has extensive clinical experience through his private practice, which he has operated since 2011, treating a wide range of endodontic cases, including complex conditions requiring advanced skills in vital pulp therapy, retreatment procedures, and modern root canal obturation using bioceramic materials.
Academically, he has held several teaching positions at dental schools in Syria. He served as a supervisor of practical clinical training at the Faculty of Dentistry, International University for Science and Technology, between 2010 and 2021, and was also a faculty member there. He currently serves as a faculty member at the Faculty of Dentistry, Arab International University, contributing to student training and the enhancement of clinical practical skills.
He has published several scientific works, most notably a research article published in the International Journal of Dentistry and Oral Science in 2021, which evaluated the effectiveness of vital pulp therapy using Bioceramic ERRM compared to CEM material in permanent teeth with reversible pulpitis. The study, based on clinical and radiographic assessment, presented significant findings in the field of modern bioactive endodontic treatments.
