The Arab International University hosts a lecture by the artist and calligrapher Munir Shaarani

At the invitation of the Faculty of Arts, the Arab International University hosted the artist and calligrapher Munir Sharani on Saturday 19/12/2020 AD, who delivered a lecture entitled "Traditional and Literalism or Renewal and Creativity" in the College's Multimedia Hall, in which he addressed a number of themes related to the types and aesthetics of Arabic calligraphy and the extent of his ability to draw inspiration in artistic formation. Reviewing a group of modern and contemporary artistic experiences that were inspired by this aesthetic as a formative singular with a characteristic and a high capacity for modification and intonation.
The lecture witnessed a distinguished presence, which included a number of intellectuals, artists, and members of the teaching staff from inside and outside the university. In addition to the remarkable presence of students and interested parties.
Calligrapher Al-Sharani was born in the city of Salamiyah in 1952, a student of the great calligraphy of al-Sham the late Badawi al-Dirani, graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Damascus - Department of Advertising 1977 and he is a full-time artist, he worked in Cairo until 2005, and he designed several new lines and has writings in art criticism Arab and Islamic art and his works are selected in private collections.
It is worth noting that this lecture comes in the context of the scientific and artistic activities sponsored by the Faculty of Arts at the Arab International University, seeking to link the educational field in the college with the scientific, cultural and artistic fields in contemporary Syrian society, in order to consolidate the scientific and skill aspects of the student in preparation for his transition to professional life after Graduation
