Eng. Zinah Roumeh

Architect and academic researcher specialized in Architectural Theories and History, with over fifteen years of experience in university teaching and professional practice in architectural and interior design.

She began her academic career at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Damascus, where she obtained a Bachelor's degree in Architecture. She then pursued her postgraduate studies, earning a Master's degree in Architectural Theories and History, and is currently preparing her doctoral dissertation titled: "Transformations in Architectural and Urban Patterns and the Preservation of Place Authenticity in Historic Markets."

She currently holds a faculty position at the Faculty of Architecture at the Arab International University. She also works as a teaching assistant (Teaching Assistant) in the Department of Architectural Theories and History at the Faculty of Architecture – University of Damascus.

She has extensive experience in teaching courses in Architectural Design, Architectural Theories, Architectural History, and the Economic and Social Factors Influencing the Built Environment, in addition to academic supervision, curriculum development, and course design.

Alongside her academic work, she has rich professional experience in architectural and interior design, gained through working in several engineering offices in Syria, the UAE, and Lebanon, where she participated in the design and execution of residential, service, educational, and tourism projects, as well as preparing working drawings, quantity take-offs, and technical specifications. She also manages her own engineering office, which has completed numerous residential projects in the Damascus countryside.

She has published a scientific paper in the field of urban preservation titled: "Conservation Strategies and Management Plan for the Archaeological Site of Hosn Suleiman in Tartous" (University of Damascus, 2023).

She is proficient in using a wide range of engineering and design software, including AutoCAD, 3D Max, ArchiCAD, Adobe Photoshop, and InDesign.
