Dr. Lama Wannous

Architect and faculty member at the Universities of Damascus and the Arab International University, with over twenty years of academic and professional experience in architectural design, sustainable architecture, construction execution, and environmental factors in architecture. Her career combines advanced academic work with practical practice in engineering offices, giving her comprehensive experience in various stages of design and execution.

She began her academic journey by obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the University of Damascus, then pursued her postgraduate studies, earning a Diploma in Sustainable Architecture, followed by a Master's degree in Sustainable Architecture focusing on solar energy applications in residential buildings. She is currently a doctoral researcher in Sustainable Smart Architecture, with her dissertation focusing on the development of sustainable systems utilizing smart architecture technologies in administrative buildings in Damascus.

Since 2008, she has held a faculty position at the Faculty of Architecture – Arab International University, where she has taught a wide range of courses, including: Architectural Design at various levels, Environmental Factors, Architectural Presentation, 3D Modeling, and Engineering Drawing, in addition to supervising graduation projects and coordinating several core courses.

Since 2020, she has also worked as a teaching assistant (Teaching Assistant) in the Department of Building Science and Construction – Faculty of Architecture – University of Damascus, where she teaches courses in Working Drawings (3 and 4) and Building Physics.

On the professional level, she has worked in several engineering offices in Damascus and contributed to the preparation of working drawings for major projects such as the Four Seasons Hotel, as well as commercial, service, and residential projects, in addition to interior design work and the preparation of As-Built drawings and Shop Drawings.

She has published several scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals, covering topics such as solar energy, smart concrete, and energy efficiency in buildings using Phase Change Materials (PCM).

She is proficient in using a wide range of engineering and design software, such as AutoCAD.
