Image and video encryption : From digital rights management to secured personal communication
Image and Video Encryption provides a unified overview of techniques for encryption of images and video data. This ranges from commercial applications like DVD or DVB to more research oriented topics and recently published material. This volume introduces different techniques from unified viewpoint, then evaluates these techniques with respect to their respective properties (e.g., security, speed.....). Encryption of visual data is an important topic in the area of mutimedia security, applications range from digital rights management (DVD, DVB) ) to secure personal communications. Within this topic area, we face several aims which contradict each other. What we thrive on is good compression, fast compression, high security, fast encryption, bitstream compliance, little power consumption and little memory requirements. The authors experimentally compare different approaches proposed in the literature and include an extensive bibliography of corresponding published material. Image and Video Encryption is designed for a professional audience composed of researchers and practitioners in industry. The challenge faced in today’s manufacturing and business environments is the question of how to satisfy increasingly stringent customer requirements while managing growing system complexity. For example, customers expect high-quality, customizable, low-cost products that can be delivered quickly. The systems that deliver these expectations are by nature distributed, concurrent, and stochastic, and, as a result, increasingly difficult to manage. Unfortunately, the traditional hierarchical, strictly centralized approach to control used in these domains is characteristically inflexible, fragile, and difficult to maintain. These shortcomings have led to the development of a new class of manufacturing and supply-chain decision-making approaches in recent years. Solutions based on these approaches usually explore a set of highly distributed decision-making units that are capable of autonomous operations while cooperating interactively to resolve larger problems. The units, referred to as agents in classical computer science and software engineering, or holons if physically integrated with the manufacturing hardware, interact by exchanging information. These units are motivated by arriving at local solutions as well as collaborating and sharing resources and goals in solving the overall problem in question collectively.
High Availability and Disaster Recovery : Concepts, Design, Implementation
Companies and other organizations depend more than ever on the availability of their Information Technology, and most mission critical business processes are IT-based processes. Fuzzy database modeling with XML

The research on fuzzy conceptual models and fuzzy object-oriented databases is receiving increasing attention, in addition to fuzzy relational database models. With rapid advances in network and internet techniques as well, the databases have been applied under the environment of distributed information systems. It is essential in this case to integrate multiple fuzzy database systems. Since databases are commonly employed to store and manipulate XML data, additional requirements are necessary to model fuzzy information with XML. Second, this book maps fuzzy XML model to the fuzzy databases. Very few efforts at investigating these issues have thus far occurred.
