Applications and Usability of Interactive TV; 8th Iberoamerican Conference, jAUTI 2019, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, October 29–November 1, 2019, Revised Selected Papers
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 8th Iberoamerican Conference on Applications and Usability of Interactive Television, jAUTI 2019, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in October 2019. Anti-fragile ICT Systems
Introduces a novel approach to the design and operation of large ICT systems. It views the technical solutions and their stakeholders as complex adaptive systems and argues that traditional risk analyses cannot predict all future incidents with major impacts. To avoid unacceptable events, it is necessary to establish and operate anti-fragile ICT systems that limit the impact of all incidents, and which learn from small-impact incidents how to function increasingly well in changing environments. The book applies four design principles and one operational principle to achieve anti-fragility for different classes of incidents. It discusses how systems can achieve high availability, prevent malware epidemics, and detect anomalies. Analyses of Netflix’s media streaming solution, Norwegian telecom infrastructures, e-government platforms, and Numenta’s anomaly detection software show that cloud computing is essential to achieving anti-fragility for classes of events with negative impacts.
Android Essentials
Android Essentials is a no–frills, no–nonsense, code–centric run through the guts of application development on Google's Mobile OS. This book uses the development of a sample application to work through topics, focusing on giving developers the essential tools and examples required to make viable commercial applications work. Covering the entirety of the Android catalog in less than 150 pages is simply impossible. Instead, this book focuses on just four main topics: the application life cycle and OS integration, user interface, location–based services, and networking.
An Introduction to Optical Wireless Mobile Communications
Discusses existing conventional radio frequency (RF)-based wireless access technology and presents the challenges that can impact the requirements of the future wave of new wireless services in the context of artificial intelligence (AI) driven autonomous systems and machine-type communications. The relationship between visible light communications (VLC) and light fidelity (LiFi), is explored, and the major advantages of VLC and LiFi such as security and data density, and discuss existing research challenges are also introduced. Channel modeling techniques are provided for mobile multiuser scenarios, and will introduce key building blocks to achieve LiFi cellular networks achieving orders of magnitude improvements of area spectral efficiency compared to state-of-the-art. Challenges that arise from moving from a static point-to-point visible light link to a LiFi network that is capable of serving hundreds of mobile and fixed nodes are discussed. An overview of recent standardization activities and the commercialization challenges of this disruptive technology is also provided.

Ajax Patterns and Best Practices

Ajax has broken the client-server barrier by decoupling the client from the server, but an Ajax application still needs a server to extract content from. The most effective use of Ajax and the server requires an understanding of REST, an architectural style used to define Web services. AIU projects evaluation platform
The project is a cloud computing system constructed to provide the service of helping students run their practical projects and work together while keeping track of every change in it, and teachers running the projects online and evaluating them. The system provided help doing this mission in real-time dialogue without having any dependencies downloaded on the machine and running it over the internet. The development of the system used a full-stack web framework and a database processing technology. The system has accomplished such services as running the projects online. The tests of the system are running in good conditions. The use of this system will solve the problem of teacher’s project evaluation and running them online.
