About AIU

AIU - Mission & Vision

As an institution of higher education and academic research, Arab International University (AIU), strives to be a center of excellence that conforms to international standards in education and research.

Our mission is to provide a platform for conveying knowledge, values and traditions in the spirit of "good neighborliness" between Arab countries and Europe, America and all other parts of the world.  We are keen on enhancing interaction and cooperation in social, cultural and economic spheres.

In pursuing its goals, AIU is guided by the following values:

  • Critical thought, inquiry and analysis.
  • Life-long learning among faculty and students.
  • Links between teaching, research and employment.
  • Cross-cultural dialogue and economic cooperation.
  • Academic and professional leadership and integrity.

AIU offers Bachelors and Masters Degrees. Its administration and academics are modeled on the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).  The language of instruction is English.

The academic programs at AIU serve two specific goals. First, they give students technical knowledge and understanding. Second, they do so in a social and professional context, so that students can better apply their competencies and navigate ethical challenges.  The university's curriculum balances skills and knowledge and emphasizes the creative use of both. Our hope is to produce graduates of competence, performance and conscience.

AIU is developing a distinct identity among its professors and students. We aim to recruit professors who are excellent and professional – and we aim to draw students from all backgrounds and beliefs.  Thus, our students will learn from professors who are dedicated and generous, and professors will teach students who are diverse and uniquely positioned to contribute to the university.  Both are our greatest asset.

As we look to the future, we continue to establish a range of partnerships in the public and private sectors in order to enhance the resources of our staff, the education of our students, and the stature of our university.
