Official call of Applications

This is an official call for students and staff from Arab International University to submit their applications for international credit mobility (5 months for students and 5 days for staff) to a group of prestigious Portuguese Universities – JAMIES.

Following are the details and conditions:

Information on JAMIES Institutions:

JAMIES is the result of a partnership between Universidade do Minho (Coordinator), Universidade do Algarve, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Universidade do Porto and Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, under ICM 2017, and allows the 5 Higher Portuguese Institutions to receive/send students, teaching and non-teaching staff from/to 5 partner countries outside Europe - Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria and Tunisia.


Eligibility  and academic requirements

Students: She/he should be a student of Arab International University Finishes the minimum of 70 credit hours for Business and Art students and 90 credit hours for Architecture, Civil Engineering, Pharmacy students and have more than 32 credit hours to graduate by the end of 20171 semester. Students should be of a minimum of level of English proficiency of Level 3 (proved by a letter from the English Center of the University or equivalent).

Staff: academic and administrative staff most obtain a document to proof that she/ he is an employee of Arab International University that is allowed a period of 7 days to leave for mobility.

Student Mobility

5 student (5 months)

Subsistence allowance: 800€/month/grantholder

Travel: up to 530€/mobility

Teaching & administrative Staff

3+3 (5 working days + 2 travel days)

Subsistence allowance: 840€/grantholder

Travel: up to 530€/mobility

Application procedure:

All applications must be submitted online until the 15th  November, using the application form provided on the site

The final selection of candidates will be made by the JAMIES Consortium, where a jury, composed by 1 member of each Portuguese Universities will meet and decide the final award of the scholarships/grants, taking into account criteria such as: academic merit, relevance of the work plan, balanced distribution of scholarships between Partner universities, gender balance, among others. The final number of selected mobilities, in this call, will depend on the number and quality of applications received. The results will be communicated via email and will be published on the site

Preferred teaching and research areas in line with the needs identified
Arab International University students satisfying the above mentioned criteria of all faculties can submit their applications online until the 15th November. However, the selection of student will be based on the availability of fields of study at the host university
