Workshop on April 24–25, 2025 in Weimar (Germany) Recycling and Reconstruction in Syria Building Methods and Materials for Post-War Syria
The Arab University participated in an (online) workshop held at Bauhaus University Weimar and at the headquarters of the Institute for Applied Construction Research (IAB) with international participation, aiming at the reconstruction of Syria through the following lecture:
"The Importance of Reconstruction Planning for Syria Beyond Existing Patterns"
With contributions from:
- Prof. Dr. Eng. Tamer Alhaja
- Prof. Dr. Eng. Walid Al-Awad
This collaboration between the two universities in the context of reconstruction offers the following outcomes:
- Transfer of technology and sustainable building concepts
- A platform for exchange between Syrian experts and the German construction industry
- Cooperation with IAB-Weimar focusing on projects that integrate modernity with environmental protection, rehabilitation, and restoration.
It is expected that the next workshop will be held in Syria, which will boost further academic scientific cooperation with German educational and research institutions.
