An alarm increases in the rate of emerging of resistance bacteria have been causing a great public concern worldwide. This problem of increasing resistance has necessitated the search for safe and effective factors that may be used to treat persistent bacterial infections or modify the currently available antibiotic. This study deals with the antimicrobial potential assessment of Ulva flexuosa that was collected from at MAZAR ELKHODER. Crude organic extracts were prepared using methanolic and chloroformic extract and tested against 6 indicator microorganisms using the disk diffusion method and also applied against biofilm (dental plaque). Several concentrations of extract have been prepared, applied on Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, salmonella typhi, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, proteus mirabilis and Eshiereshia coli. Both extracts, showed an effect on Staphylococcus aureus with higher efficacy for the methanolic. Also, this extract had an effect on salmonella. In addition, the chloroformic extract exhibited an effect on the biofilm formation more than the methanolic extract. The total phenolic contents (Gallic acid equivalents, mg/g) in the methanolic and chloroformic extracts were calculated to be 107.935 and 95.5 mg/g, respectively.
