Research into the disciplinary liability of judges raises fundamental issues and questions, particularly in light of the relationship between the guarantees of a judge's rights during a disciplinary investigation, such as confronting them with the violations attributed to them, enabling them to exercise their right to defense, managing investigation procedures, and the effectiveness of the legal system regulating them. In this context, the main problem revolves around the extent to which Syrian legislators have succeeded in formulating a comprehensive and consistent legal framework for the disciplinary liability of State Council judges. This central question gives rise to a set of sub-questions:

1. What is the nature of disciplinary violations that expose a judge to disciplinary accountability?

2. What is the mechanism followed to prosecute a judge if it is proven that they have committed a disciplinary violation?

3. What are the guarantees that protect a judge's rights during the prosecution and disciplinary phases?

 4. What types of disciplinary sanctions does the Syrian system permit imposing on a violating judge?
