Applied Parallel Computing ; 6th International Conference, PARA 2002, Espoo, Finland, June 15-18, 2002. Proceeding
These proceedings contain the papers presented at PARA 2002, the Sixth In-ternational Conference on Applied Parallel Computing. PARA 2002 was held inEspoo, Finland, June 15–18, 2002, and hosted by CSC, the Finnish informationtechnology center for science. The general theme of the conference was advancedscientific computing.The conference demonstrated the ability of advanced scientific computing tosolve real-world problems, and highlighted methods, instruments, and trends infuture scientific computing. The conference began with a one-day tutorial sessionon Grid programming.The conference focused on an application-oriented, multi-disciplinary, andmulti-scale approach. A wide variety of scientific computing applications wereintroduced, from semiconductor processing and behavior of the human body tooceanic and atmospheric phenomena.

This book constitutes the refereed joint proceedings of seven workshops on evolutionary computing, EvoWorkshops 2006, held in Budapest, Hungary, in April 2006. The 65 revised full papers and 13 revised short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 149 submissions. During the last 30 years, face recognition and related problems such as face detection/tracking and facial expression recognition have attracted researchers from both the engineering and psychology communities. In addition, extensive research has been carried out to study hand and body gestures. The understanding of how humans perceive these important cues has significant scientific value and extensive applications. this one-day workshop (AMFG 2005) provided a focused international forum to bring together well-known researchers and research groups to review the status of recognition, analysis and modeling of faces and gestures, to discuss the challenges that we are facing, and to explore future directions. Overall, 30 papers were selected from 90 submitted manuscripts. The topics of these papers range from feature representation, robust recognition, learning, and 3D modeling to psychology.

AIU projects evaluation platform
The project is a cloud computing system constructed to provide the service of helping students run their practical projects and work together while keeping track of every change in it, and teachers running the projects online and evaluating them. The system provided help doing this mission in real-time dialogue without having any dependencies downloaded on the machine and running it over the internet. The development of the system used a full-stack web framework and a database processing technology. The system has accomplished such services as running the projects online. The tests of the system are running in good conditions. The use of this system will solve the problem of teacher’s project evaluation and running them online.
