Focusing on the manipulation and representation of geometrical objects, this book explores the application of geometry to computer graphics and computer-aided design (CAD). An introduction to transformations of the plane and three-dimensional space describes how objects can be constructed from geometric primitives and manipulated. This leads into a treatment of projections and the method of rendering objects on a computer screen by application of the complete viewing operation. Subsequently, the emphasis is on the two principal curve and surface representations, namely, Bézier and B-spline (including NURBS).

Applications of random matrices in physics
Random matrices are widely and successfully used in physics for almost 60-70 years, beginning with the works of Dyson and Wigner. Although it is an old subject, it is constantly developing into new areas of physics and mathematics. It constitutes now a part of the general culture of a theoretical physicist. Mathematical methods inspired by random matrix theory become more powerful, sophisticated and enjoy rapidly growing applications in physics. This book explores the social history of the anti-vivisection movement in Britain from its nineteenth-century beginnings until the 1960s.
