“New Challenges in Drug Delivery Systems”
6 – 10 February 2010 - AIU Campus.

This is the Deanship of Research first organized program to bring its students an opportunity for advanced study.
The Winter School this year will provide the students with exposure to advanced study and the opportunity to showcase their ability and aptitude for postgraduate studies in pharmaceutical sciences. And for the student to be able to mix and discuss venues for advanced studies with world renowned researchers in this area. At the conclusion of the school, students will receive from the scientific committee, certificates showing their distinction and hard work. The committee also will make their recommendation to the students to further their postgraduate study at German Universities. It will also match their talents with employment opportunities at local pharmaceutical companies.
We aim in this Winter School for our students to find it beneficial to their career, for the German guest to enjoy their visit to Syria, and AIU business partners to find the talents they are looking for.

On the 6^th of February 2010, was the opening ceremony for the winter school which started with a speech from Prof. Dr. Abdul Ghani Maa Bared explaining about the winter school and its stages. Followed with speeches of the AIU board members and deans and Business Partners.

During the winter school program, In honor of Prof. Sitzmann, the Arab International University organized a memorial in the Campus on the 7th of February at 11am. Prof. Sitzmann who recently passed away is honored for more than 25 years of scientific cooperation in the field of medicine between the University of Saarland (Germany) and University of Damascus (Syria).

Last but not least, on the final day of the winter school there was the certificates distribution for the students who participated in this unique event. For more information on the winter school click here to check out the research section.
